The turtlegreen Story

Kribo Ackerman spent her childhood playing card games like Old Maid, Rummy and Canasta. She became a passionate advocate for the environment in her teens during the Save the Whale campaign of the late 1970’s. Many years later Kribo found herself making and playing games with her daughter on the floor of their home and thought “Why don’t I make green Australian games for children?”

In 2004 Kribo started turtlegreen with the aim of creating fun, educational games for children that were produced sustainably. In 2005 Kribo met Caitlin McDougall in the local art shop and they found a common purpose. Caitlin painted the gorgeous watercolour illustrations of Australian native animals in the Go Anna! card game that was released at the end of 2005 and on the stationery range released in 2006. In 2007 Kribo started working with illustrator and art educator, Sally Grant. The result of this collaboration is a board game and treasure hunt called Squelch! which will be released in 2008.
